July 31st marks the end of my residency. 3 years of specialty training in veterinary dentistry and oral surgery. What does this mean?
Time to get a job. A real one.
I had a preliminary phone interview with a practice back on the east coast, and it really sounds like the dream job. The hospital director sounded very enthusiastic about bringing in a veterinary dentist, and the hospital is associated with a university. This is the best of both worlds: the pace and pay of a private practice with the high-quality medicine of a teaching hospital. The next step is to arrange a time to go and visit the practice and interview in person. You know, in all my spare time.
I am really looking forward to moving closer to home (Philadelphia), but I know I will definitely miss the friends I have made out here. Well, we'll see how things go...
