Home again

Home for a week, then off to Scottsdale once more. Yesterday was mostly spent in bed, sort of drowsing. I got home after 11:30pm on Friday, fell asleep sometime around 1ish, then woke up at 6am. I tried to go back to sleep, but it was in fits and starts.

My friend had a little dinner/knit night at her place. It was a lot of fun, and she made a great barbecue in the crockpot and some kind of addictive dip. I did a lot of ripping and reknitting, but at long last, the Drawstring Chemise is (mostly) done. I have to weave in some ends, block it, and get some ribbon because I refuse to knit 6+ feet of I-cord.

I spent a lot of today on my bike. I have no food in my house (other than random condiments and spoiled milk), so I went to the SaveMart about a mile away. I am starting the Special K challenge since I have not noticed much difference since I started working out again. Since SaveMart was missing some things I needed, I dropped off the groceries and went to the Safeway that is a couple of miles away. OK, I am totally out of shape. Davis is completely flat, and the only things resembling hills are the overpasses. I can ride forever on flat surfaces. Not so much on inclines...

Ran into the dermatologist from my internship. What a nice guy! He laughingly told me he thought he had seen me at the grocery store the week before but thought I either didn't recognize him or was asleep. Since I was in Scottsdale, it was not me! I get this a lot because I apparently have a generic Asian-girl appearance. I have had random people come up and hug me, not noticing I was not the person they thought I was until AFTER accosting me. Anyway, we caught up on people we knew, then parted ways.

Tomorrow, I start my week on anesthesia. So dreading this...
